Dr. Hoch’s Conservatory – Music Academy Frankfurt am Main is a state-accredited training institute with a long tradition. Established in 1878 as a foundation of the Frankfurter, Dr. Joseph Hoch, today it brings together under one roof all levels of musical training from early musical stimulation to academic study at "Bachelor of Music" level. The many significant music personalities linked to the Hoch Conservatory include Paul Hindemith, Hans von Bülow, Otto Klemperer and Clara Schumann.

The Conservatory offers a broad range of subjects in the field of music, offering its students and pupils skills that are essential for the musical profession today.  The study course “Music Pedagogical Artistic Orientation” (Bachelor of Music) at the Dr. Hoch’s Conservatory has 8 semesters and finishes with professional specific qualifications, enabling the students to join the professional world as independently working, respectively employed musicians. All instrument subjects, singing, elementary music pedagogy and musical setting are offered in a modern four-year course, which is supplemented by several practice-oriented projects.

In the Department for Music Education for Youth and Adults (ANE) the Conservatory offers talented musicians of all ages the opportunity to receive excellent training as lay people from competent lecturers.

As well as courses in composition and an Early Music department, the Conservatory has a ballet school.

The Conservatory sees itself as not just a training institute, but also a communicator of music. With its many events and concerts, the Hoch Conservatory tries to carry out this cultural task. Musical life in Frankfurt and beyond is a central concern of the Hoch Conservatory.
