Type of course

Talent training: An entrance examination must be passed. No age restrictions. Institute-related specialist musical training in all instrumental subjects and music theory.
Instrument teaching in the selected subject is carried out once a week in an individual class. The duration of a class is 50 minutes.

It is also possible to take up to five classes from the range of theoretical subjects at no extra cost. If the appropriate requirements are met the Conservatory offers free chamber music tuition or a chance to participate in the choir or the orchestra of the institute. There is no initial limit to the duration of the training, providing there is an appropriate level of achievement.

Qualification

There is no set duration of study in this department. On request, the Conservatory can provide a certificate showing the achievements of the pupil and information about his/her musical progress, the music literature covered, and successful participation in internal and public concerts of the Conservatory.

Entry requirements

The entrance examination generally includes performance of two different pieces from different stylistic periods.

The degree of difficulty of the pieces should correspond to the age and training of the candidate. There are no age restrictions for entry to this department of the Conservatory. For keyboard instruments and bowed instruments, even less advanced candidates may be accepted if particular musical talent can be detected.

For intensive preparation for study at a technical university or for a professional qualification, the Conservatory recommends the services offered by the Study Preparation department.
